Transcode into AAC stream instead

Hello - are there instructions to transcode all media files into AAC+ streams instead of MP3 stream? Is this possible for streaming over the flash player, or is MP3 the only option?

Subsonic is designed to handle very large music collections (hundreds of gigabytes). Although optimized for MP3 streaming, it works for any audio or video format that can stream over HTTP, for instance AAC and OGG. By using transcoder plug-ins, Subsonic supports on-the-fly conversion and streaming of virtually any audio format, including WMA, FLAC, APE, Musepack, WavPack, Shorten and OptimFROG.

I cannot seem to find a tutorial within the forum regarding streaming AAC but it should work according to the snippet. If you do succeed in setting it up I encourage you to post your findings in the tutorial section of this forum. This way it will be easier for the next individual struggling with the same issue.
