Can't log in...

Postby EuroPimp » Thu Jan 04, 2007 1:05 pm

Hi, there.
I recently installed Tomcat and Subsonic using this guide.
But at the point where I have to browse to http://localhost:8080/subsonic I try to login with user: admin and password: admin, but it won't let me in.
Anybody knows the reason for this? :s

I'm using Windows XP pro, Tomcat 5.5.20 and Subsonic 2.9.
Could it be because I'm also running IIS?

I have the same problem and install it also on Jan 04 2007. What is wrong?
It is the first time that I install subsonic

UPDATE: I have found the problem. My winamp web interface also running on port 8080. I have shutdown this plugin and know i can login with admin... admin.

EuroPimp check if your port 8080 is free ;)

I am having a similar problem in Windows 2k.
I installed it, have logged in and been using it.
It is setup to run as / rather than /subsonic.
I am using Tomcat 5.5 and subsonic 2.9.
  • I created two user accounts, gazzat and user with different permissions.
  • I shutdown the Apache Tomcat service when I'm not using it, and Start it when I want to use it again.
  • Then when I try to login, I get a big fat "Wrong username or password." even though I know the username and password is correct.

Also there are some unusual log entries in apache's stdout log. Here's an excerpt:
Code: Select all
log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (org.apache.catalina.startup.TldConfig).
log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.
java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException
   at java.nio.Buffer.checkBounds(Unknown Source)
   at java.nio.ByteBuffer.get(Unknown Source)
   at java.nio.DirectByteBuffer.get(Unknown Source)
   at org.hsqldb.persist.NIOScaledRAFile.read(Unknown Source)

There are a lot of "(Unknown Source)" entries under each "IndexOutOfBoundsException" of which there are also quite a few.

This is the 3rd time this problem has happened to me and the only solution seems to be halting the apache service and deleting Subsonic, deleting subsonic's data folder in c:\, and reinstalling from scratch.

Any ideas much appreciated.
