Windows 7...

Postby Mike Marrone » Fri Feb 05, 2010 4:13 am

I was just forced to "upgrade" from XP to Windows 7 due to a new CPU. I won't get into the trauma of suddenly having to purchase things like Adobe Photoshop again but I will be able to deal with it all as long as I can continue to use Subsonic.

My problem is that for the first few days after re-installing and updating my database everything was working perfectly. For the last few days I have been unable to either remotely access my data or even turn the Subsonic agent on and off from my home system.

When I try to change the port or memory limit I get an error that tells me "Failed to write to file" with the file location.

Can anyone offer some advice?

Thanks,

Mike

Sounds like you have the same problem I do. Does subsonic work fine after restarting your computer?

To fix the failed write problem I copied the file that it told you it couldn't write to to a place I could edit it. I edited it in notepad, and then copied it back, overwriting the original. It looks like there are other ways to do it: http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2222
