Music folder problem

Postby dozer » Fri Dec 14, 2007 7:46 pm

I'm still having a problem with my music folders in subsonic. The older versions i've used throwed an exception when i tried to create my music folder. Now with subsonic 3.3.beta1 it doesn't crash anymore, but instead it doesn't add the folders at all.

I tried to add my root music folder, but the log says only:
WARN FileUtil - Failed to list children for /music

Then i tried to add single folders like /music/Band and /music/SomeOtherBand

the log says only: Created music folder /music/Band Created music folder /music/SomeOtherBand

some of these folder work and the files are shown in the home-page. Some of the folders don't appear to be indexed at all. None of the folders can be seen in the menu left. It only shows 0artist 0albums 0songs...

I'm using Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty with tomcat 5.5.

---

EDIT: I was just being a dumbass. There were no write-permission in my music folder for subsonic. Now it correctly indexes my music.

But the left browsing frame is still a problem, it still doesn't show anything.
0 artist, 0 albums, 0 songs, 0 B

That could be a browser caching problem I have seen in Firefox and IE (I think). Try to clear the browser cache and see if that helps.

I got something similar.

Running Windows XP.

If I try to add a remote drive (say \\Server\music) it won't show up. If I first map the drive (say M:) it still doesn't work. But if I add a folder on the machine it's installed on it works (even if I use \\thiscomputer\music).

Uhm... Did I miss something? All my cd's are on the server machine and Subsonic on my HTPC machine...

Ah yeah, you got me on the right track there. The HTPC is with some "skip logon" modification thingy.
The Subsonic service was running without being logged on. :)

Cheers for the help, works like a charm now.

I've had this problem before, and just fought with it again. For me, the solution has been to make sure the subsonic service (in windows) logs in as a real user (my user in this case), instead of itself.
