General file support

Postby dec-pvr » Tue Mar 30, 2010 8:40 pm

Hi,

I'm using your great piece of software on a system called Vortexbox.

My request is this:

Is it possible to adapt Subsonic to support general file formats (other than music files) for remote access?

By that I mean basic support to allow additional files/folders to be accessed (once the root folder is added) for browsing/downloading.

I had in mind a basic tick-box system to chose particular, or individual, files within a folder for downloading.

This could be used for photos, documents etc.

I don't expect, or even want, anything too fancy - just basic file access so I can access my documents elsewhere with ease, and allow friends/family to see & download my photos.

Thanks

Please accept my apologies if this has already been requested/rejected.

I second this request!

I would really like to share the pictures of my little girl with Grandma and Grandpa. They would be very, very pleased!

You can add any file types you like in "Settings > General > Music mask"
Then you would at least be able to download the images.

OK then! We'll give it a go and see if it passes the "Grandpa test"! LOL

Thanks for a terrific product.
