Problem Description: I just installed (and donated to) subsonic on my desktop and everything works amazingly well - except that I cannot connect to the server when I am not connected to my wireless network. I mean, I would be happy if I never resolved this (I can stream all of my .flac files on my phone, roku, other computers, all at the same time anywhere in the house, which is awesome) but it would be great if I could extend that to areas outside of my home.
Troubleshooting Steps: I'm not really sure what steps to take - subsonic tells me that port forwarding is working correctly and there is an entry in the list of "virtual servers" on the configuration page for my router that says "subsonic" that I did not put there...I think it has something to do with needing a static IP but I'm confused about how to do this in linux (all the stuff I've found on the web is for windows or tells me I need to buy it from my ISP, which I suspect is BS.)
I believe this is the heart of the problem, and conveniently happens to be a complete mystery to me.
Playback Application and version: Browser, Android app, roku Subsonic TV, all work perfectly when connected to the wifi.
Subsonic Version: 4.5 (build 2384) – August 10, 2011
Server Version: jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_22, Linux (55.4 MB / 98.6 MB)
Hardware Platform: Ubuntu 11.04
Java Memory Limit: ? n/a?
Problem Filename: No transcoding problems
Output from ffmpeg -i: ditto
- Code: Select all

I'm sorry if this is an easy fix and I failed to find the solution elsewhere in the forums, but any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
