Does this file exist? Looks like some privilege issue to me.

"Access denied to file c:\music\Podcast\NRK P2 – Ekko - et aktuelt samfunnsprogram\nrk_ekko_-_et_aktuelt_samfunnsprogram_2012-0211-0514_6346447658.mp3"

Hmmm. No, it doesn't, and even if it did, I'm not sure why it should be located in c:\music anyway. Based on the date, it seems to be fairly recent as well. Strange.

The folder exists, though.

Weird. I guess you could try and copy a different mp3 file into that location (renaming it to nrk_ekko_-_et_aktuelt_samfunnsprogram_2012-0211-0514_6346447658.mp3). Or go back to 4.6 and try to delete it from db.view (sql knowledge needed). Otherwise, I guess deleting C:/subsonic will work too, but it'll remove all your users, play stats, comments etc...

Hmmm. I tried pasting in an mp3-file and renaming it to nrk_ekko..., but still no luck. Deleting c:\subsonic would suck, as comments and users are a bitch to lose, but I guess I could live with it if it's the only way to go. No sql-knowledge, so that's out. Could it be subsonic itself that saves podcasts to c:\music even though all other music is elsewhere?

I guess it does, but I've never looked into that. You could also go back to 4.6 and unsubscribe from all podcasts, and then try upgrading to 4.7. Could be worth a shot.

I'll give that a try before I delete the subsonic folder. Not too much trouble, and if it works, it saves me from a lot of hassle and annoyed friends. I'll keep you posted. =)

edit: That worked! Thanks a bundle! :D

After trying to change the folderpath of my podcasts i now have the same Problem: Http Error 503 and nothing is working -.-' it seems that there are some serious problems whithin the subsonic database and i'm litte bit tiered of all the deinstalling and reinstalling subsonic. I almost reached the point of returning to 4.6 because this version was quite stabile and much more robust :-(

Edit:
just installed 4.6 again and everything is fine - altough i don't really like "never touch a running system" it fits here. that is sad because i really love subsonic and some of the new features such as the better playlisthandling, the starring system, the password-forgotten-system etc. where fantastic, but the new media-scanning and the exceptions according to the database are too annoying

i'll wait until 4.7.1 or something else appears ;D

and don't get me wrong: i can image what an enormous task it is to create something like subsonic! i love it and i respect sindre very much, but it seems as if 4.7 is not quite stabile enough for me :D

I love a lot of things in the new 4.7.. but I was contemplating going back to 4.6 (even though I *hate* the way it creates links with a bunch of hex mess in it).
Mainly because I absolutely despise this new sorting system by tags. I have all my music set up in a certain way and it worked perfectly with 4.6, then I tried 4.7b3 (I'll be trying 4.7 final to see if this is different first) and everything is all screwed up because I try to avoid putting "Various Artists" in the tags like the plague. Somehow they crept back in and it's quite annoying to see "Various Artists" now instead of who actually did the song. I've noticed some weird sorting problems in 5.7b3 (again will be trying 4.7 final later) where it sorts most of the "Metal" artists right but then at the bottom it'll put a few after "Zimmer's Hole".. which makes no sense (I remember Moonspell being down there for some reason).

Short Version - Sindre is awesome and so is subsonic but I don't quite agree with some of the changes in 4.7 sorting. :)

Also, any news with Java 7 in/compatibilities? Thanks

Thanks for all the hard work as usual.. but this is still sorting my album tracks alphabetically instead of the proper track listing.. 4.6 displays this perfectly.. whats is going on here ? :)

It's most likely related to the problem I'm having where 4.7 sorts by ID3 tag instead of filename. If you don't have Disc Number or Track Number assets in your ID3 tag for that song, it will fail and fall back to sorting alphabetically. I would just try and revert it back to filename sorting but I'm assuming that's quite a big deal :/

Subsonic 4.7 is much more responsive in browsing and search performance.

I am so happy.

Thanks for this amazing and one of my most used applications.

However, add me to the list of those who are having an issue with the alphabetic sorting.

Great work, as always.

I am, however, very saddened to see that the issues surrounding the usage of "album artist" that me and others reported in the 4.7b3 thread have not been resolved in the final release. When an album artist tag is present, the artist tag seems to be completely ignored. Which is a disaster for compilations which have "Various" or such as the album artist - now the artist for each individual song is no longer shown, and the song does not come up in searches for the artist, even though everything is the way it should (eg. if the first song from Compilation XYZ is from Elton John and the others are from different artists, it _is_ the correct thing to do to tag that first song with Artist = Elton John and Album Artist = Various).

Clearing the album artist tag does prevent this from happening, but this essentially means that I will have to clear all my "album artist" tags (annoying), and then, when Subsonic returns to being sensible, reinstate them (even more annoying). Not that happy about that, especially because a) this means abandoning the "right" way to tag the music for a workaround, b) this is a regression from something that used to work perfectly in 4.6, and c) in order to solve a minor nitpick (the artist of the first track being shown in the album lists as the album artist) a much more irritating problem is introduced.

I suppose it is now too late to request a quick 4.7.1 release which, at least, introduces a "Use album artist instead of artist if present" preference that we can disable. But a man can dream :)

Anyway, thanks again for your great work, and all the other improvements in 4.7 are amazing!

EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm not suggesting that abandoning "album artist" is the way to go. I'm only proposing that it be only used for, well, showing the artist for each album in album lists (such as in the welcome screen and search results for albums), and reverting back to 'artist' for everything else (ie. everything related to songs individually, such as searching, showing artists in playlists/songlists and the like).

I don't understand the Album artist tag thing in 4.7 either, but you could always go back to 4.7 beta2.

You could also have a look at one of the mods available. MadEvil: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9187 or mine: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9504. I have it set up so that album artists appear in the left frame, but the artist tag is displayed when browsing, scrobbling and searching. Tracks from Various Artists albums also appear when you click the real artist link in the left frame, like this: http://i.imgur.com/Hw4aH.png. (I only have an EP by artist Moneybrother, but he has a track, "Morbror Frans", on a compilation album that also gets displayed when clicking "Moneybrother" in the left frame).

I hope Sindre picks up some of these ideas for 4.8.
