Gigon,

Thank you very much for the package, just got a DS1512+ and have been running subsonic for a couple of years now. Love the fact I can run this off my Syno now! Quick question, in the regular Windows install for SS, I have the option to change the location for Playlists. I don't see this option in your version, and instead, see an option on the left for Playlists, which include Importing and Create a New Playlist. I use MediaMonkey on my main PC, and often export my playlists to a common directory to utilize with SS when out and about. Is there plans to put the functionality of changing the default location for playlists back in? I've attempted to use the Import Playlist option, but everytime I try, I get a "Failed to Import Playlist. No songs in the playlist were found". I can open these playlists in my other version of SS I have still up and running, as well as any Windows media player. Is there something I need to do to get your version to recognize my playlists? As well, is there a way to export the playlists at this time so I can use them in other media players? Thanks again for all of your hard work on this!!

hi randy

by default the playlist folder is set to /volume1/music/playlist
So you can copy your playlist to this folder (create it, if it doesn't exist), or change the path.

The only way I know to change it at the "all platform version" I am using, is to edit the subsonic.sh file.
If you are familiar with ssh and linux shell: the file is located in /volumeX/@appstore/Subsonic/Subsonic/ (X is the volume number you installed Subsonic to), just change the "SUBSONIC_DEFAULT_PLAYLIST_FOLDER" tag.

If you are not familiar:
You have to connect to your DS via ssh (for example with a little program called putty)
Start putty, type in the IP of your DS, set the connection type to ssh an click connect
enter user: root / password: <same as admin>
type
cd /volume1/@appstore/Subsonic/Subsonic (change the number to the volume you installed Subsonic to)
now you can either copy the subsonic.sh file to a shared folder (cp subsonic.sh /volumeX/shared folder), edit it in windows and copy it back
or edit it directly in the shell:
type vi subsonic.sh (I don't like vi, but this is the only editor that is installed by default, if you have bootstrapped your DS you can install nano which is much easier to work with)
type a <enter>
navigate to the line that starts with SUBSONIC_DEFAULT_PLAYLIST_FOLDER
now you can edit the path to your playlist folder
after editing press <Esc> and type :wq (to save (w) and exit (q) the editor)
you should be back to the shell now
type exit
putty (or whatever ssh program you are using) closes
the new playlist folder will be mounted after restarting subsonic.

hi Aktarus
what error message do you get? (http error 404/403....)

After starting Subsonic it might take a while (at least one minute, up to 5 minutes, depending on your system) before the Interface is available. (100% CPU load is normal during this time)
maybe you can try https://yourip:4041
The interface should be available during scanning.

P.S. I am working on a 4.7 beta 3 version...

Aktarus wrote:Just another question :
It say in installation procedure : "“User Home” activated in DSM (Control Panel->User->User Home)"
But I dont' have any user with this name in my DSM4.1 ... just Admin and guest user are in the system.
Subsonic installation create a Subsonic user and the software is installed in /volume1/@appsotre/subsonic/subsonic

Do I have to create a User Home in my dsm4.1 or it's not this that cause my problem ??
Java 7 is ok or java 6 could be better ??

Maybe I will wait for new release ... hope my bug will be fixed !!

Merci

user Home:
it is a service to provide private folders to every user (during installation a "subsonic" user is created, who runs the subsonic process)

your log looks fine, can't find an error...

the rest is correct,
for 4.7 beta 2 java 6 is the correct one. Now that beta 3 is out, I am working on a new package which will support java 7.

Thanks for the hard work - I've been enjoying your packages for a while now.

However with this new one, I tried upgrading from your 4.7b1 package, as well as a fresh install (both restoring from backup, and completely fresh), and I get this error in my subsonic_package.log (and I unchecked "Run after installation"
Code: Select all
DiskStation> cat subsonic_package.log
092412114217: create subsonic daemon user
092412114217: set ownership of Subsonic folder tree
092412114217: download and install MashupMod
092412114346: extracted MashupMod
092412114347: copied Mashupmod and deleted downloaded files
092412114347: start Subsonic for first initialisation
092412114352: Error: Can not start Subsonic during install

and here is the subsonic_sh.log:
Code: Select all
DiskStation> cat subsonic_sh.log

I am running Java 6 (ejre-1_6_0_34-fcs-b04-linux-i586-headless-19_jul_2012.gz) from packages.pcloadletter.co.uk on my DS1812+ (DSM 4.1)

Much appreciation for your dedication and hard work to allow us Synology users access to Subsonic.

During an installation of the NAS version of 4.7, I too have the same errors when attempting to upgrade or clean install on my 2411+ running DSM 4.1.2636

Thank you,

Craig

Oh sorry I have a ARM NAS and didn't know that Java 7 isn't out for the x86 NASes, yet. If you own a ARM NAS (what do I have?) you can uninstall Java 6 and install Java 7. If you have a x86 you have to stick to Java 6 and the normal 4.7 version.

Uploaded a new package for x86 Diskstations, the option to install MashupMod doesn't show up now, no other changes.

Great application!

A couple questions:
1) where are the files located on the synology box
2) the version I am using always forces me to port hhtps:my.domain.com:4041 Can I disable this?

thx again,

Craig
