Error when parsing tags

Hi all,

For 3 years im using Subsonic and i love it.
Never had any problems or serious errors until today.
Can anyone help me out with the following error i get when i index the sound database of Subsonic???

Hi,

this is a common issue with the Entagged parser used in current versions of Subsonic. Most likely your files are alright - if you re-tagged them using a tool such as mp3tag for example http://www.mp3tag.de then it would probably parse the files properly.

Sindre is currently planning to switch over to JAudioTagger, you can add your 'yes please' here:

if ill use the retag program, will it or can it do anything wrong with my original music files??
Since i still got no good back-up copy from my music collection of 500GB.

Hi,
you should really have a backup, unless you can honestly say that your music collection ain't worth the cost of a 1TB drive. Having said that, the ID3 tags are stored in a separate area of your music files, meaning the actual audio component remains untouched. I would recommend you make a copy of one album and try to tag that using mp3tag, just to play it safe. Still, get a backup drive!
